The Internal Control Institute (ICI) is the first organization in the world to develop and promote the profession of the internal control profession. The process of setting up the ICI began many years before the emergence of internal control violations at institutions such as Enron, WorldCom, and Global Crossing, which led to the removal of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in the United States. The preparation process for vocational certificate programs gives the people information and expertise in the institutions to detect and avoid such violations.

 

It is the sole aim of the Institute to improve internal control and corporate governance on an international scale. ICI provides institutions with internal control methods, internal control guidelines / procedures, and first-class internal control tools. ICI's unique products include:

The Institute of Internal Control is an international professional organization based in Orlando / Florida with a global headquarters in the USA. ICI is the principal and first global voice of the internal control profession, the chief advocate and the main trainer of the Internal Control Specialist. Members come from all areas of an organization, including members of the board of directors, operations management, risk management, governance, information technology, auditing, security and many other units, with a share of internal control responsibilities. The Institute of Internal Control is established and organized according to the laws of the State of Florida of the United States and carries out its activities according to this law. The Institute is guided by an experienced Advisory Board consisting of active experts on the subject who follow and often prepare many programs offered by the Institute.
